Umar's 1 year old?!?

It's June. And that only means one thing. Umar's turning one this 28th. Oh my gosh. He's ONE?? ONE. It's been a hell of a roller coaster ride, but I am so so so grateful of these things : - I managed to breastfeed him till he's one. (that was my goal. At least until he turns one.) - I managed to NOT get pregnant yet (without any contraceptive devices or medications - except breastfeeding) - He's well-fed now. Alhamdulillah. Ever since we moved, he eats at least THREE times a day now. But despite the happiness, i am also pretty worried and sad. Those who are close with me, they'll know. But in time, i hope these worries will disappear and everything will turn out alright. Umar's next checkup is a day after his birthday and i am just hoping that it'll be good. Happy 1st Birthday, my baby boy. You're one year old now. You've yet to walk, crawl or even feed on your own. But most people are telling Ibu not to worry and that you...

Umar's first plane trip / Husband's birthday trip

Umar's first vacation was nothing short of wonderful. We knew that we wanted to go on a vacation as it was the Husband's birthday ( we are ALWAYS overseas during your birthday. #notfair ) and at first we thought of heading to Rome but we were doubting so many things. But all is well and Alhamdulillah, when we were in Phuket, everything was made easy for us and it was pretty smooth for a couple with a baby. I booked everything and I think I spent around SGD $1000 on accommodations alone. But overall I believe we spent less than $2000 during our 1 week stay in Phuket. I tried my best to search for the beautiful hotels with nice view at an affordable price, but I just had to splurge on one villa....... (it is for the husband, of course.) Husband requested that he wanted to w...

to new beginnings

Assalamualaikum!  So here I am, decided to create a blog out of nowhere. Perhaps my conscience was telling me that I needed to create memories so that I can preserve them forever. This blog is specially for my dearest Umar and perhaps, his future siblings too Insha Allah. This is where I will pen down my journey throughout motherhood for as long as I live. Where I will write down the sweet and bitter memories for my children to read when they're older (that is if they are interested to know how they were like when they were kids.) I already have an Insta account for Umar (@umaral.fatih) and there, I've posted photos of him ever since he was born! Now, Umar's coming to 6 months but that's fine. We'll start from scratch here. I'll figure out what to post as time passes by but for now, my head is as blank as a canvas. Meanwhile, check out this photo of Umar and myself in Istanbul, in front of the Blue Mosque. Impromptu trip to Istanbul, with Abi, Mummy...
